They announced that ages ago.
All pc game dev's take note, dedicated servers where, are and always will be the way forward.

Anything would be better than the current CoD game, MW2... The developers have patched next to no mods etc, left the leaderboard etc, obviously don't care about the gamer, just how much money they get.
Whereas, Treyarch 'look' after their gamers, they block, or atleast try to block all mods, and release good DLC, their gameplay and graphics may not be upto MW2 scratch, but it's still really good.

In my opinion the best COD game that has been released was the first one (Call of duty + Call of duty: United Offensive) which was just released on PC, absolutly amazing gameplay, once it started going to the consoles tho it was all about the money.
From my experience treyarch COD's have been the worse ones, IW have recently started to go downhill and ruin the franchise

CoD4 has to be my favourite Call of Duty game, just down to the general simpleness, no over the top stuff etc.
One of the main reasons MW2 is so 'bad' is because the majority of the major developers and designers have actually left IW, due to the fact that they are 'blanking' the customer, and just raking in the money.
These guys have actually joined another dev, which I believe also has rights to making Call of Duty games, so hopefully in the near future, maybe next year we should see a game that is a lot better than the prior
