Re-Load Kits/Viewloader motors

Hi,

I'm thinking of upgrading my current hoppers arrangement adn I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the Re-Load kit any good, is there any point getting one for my soon-to-be-blade cocker?

2. I have a knackered 12volt Revvy motor and a working 9 volt hopper, if I attached the board from the 12volt with the motor from the 9 volt will that give me a working 12volt or a burning motor?

Richard

P.s. anyone got a planet kitbag that they don't want?

If you are getting the E-blade cocker, then get a Halo B.

I have several reload kits and they are the best agitating loader out there in my opinion. And the batteries last FOR EVER! :) You can put the reload kit into any old rev shells and get a working system.

But sometimes with a cocker, having a force feed Halo B is just what you need.

Only a Rocket frame

Wookie, Re-Load kit, £35, Halo, £90!

I'm only shooting the mechanical blade trigger, I feel the HALO would be overkill, I have a spare Revvy shell lying about you see (curtousy the knackered motor...) so I would only need the kit.

That and Halo's are heavier (yes?) take loadsa batteries etc

Any opinion on the 9volt motor? Could it take a 12volt board?

Cheers

True about the price.. I suppose it depends if you are looking long term or not.

If you are getting an EBlade, you'll end up getting a Halo in the end :)

As for the motor.. try comparing part numbers, there probably the same motor.

I actually think the Halo B is better for mechanical cockers than electro's. Granted you need it just to keep up with the E-blade :)

But because with a mechanical cocker (and blade especially) you can shoot so fast that sometimes the bolt doesn't stay open long enough. The halo B will have more chance of successfully loading a ball (and avoiding a chop or pinch).

I believe the 9volt servo can take the 12v board. I think it was just underpowered when run with 9v hence the 12v... unless you are talking about way old 9v in which case I'm not sure but what's the worst that could happen?

Halo is heavier (not too much once both are filled with paint) and takes more batteries (which last forever!) but it's worth it in my opinion. I wouldn't shoot my cocker without one now. :)

Thanks

I fear that the HALO is out of my price range :( Dan (teammate) is shooting a blade with a 12volt without any problems though.

The worst that could happen? The motor could get so hot that it ignites, sets fire to my house, all my clothes and worst of all my paintball gear... I think I shall experiment at some point, see how warm it gets.

Sadly the part numbers are different (I seem to remember checking that when I put the nice impellar into my 9volt) but look identical... I think I'll wait till I have a re-load kit though.

How does the Re-Load compare to an X-Board btw?

Thanks Si and Si, anyone else not busy with Christmas want to share their wisdom?

A Happy Christmas to y'all

Buy a Halo Richard. As Manike said, the weight doesn't mean all that much, and if you're REALLY bothered about the battery weight, you can buy lithium batteries which are about 1/3 the weight of normal one's.

You're a student. At Durham. Of course you can afford a Halo!!!

Next time you play for us, I'm sure either myself or Simon will loan you a halo so you can try it for size and weight, it's really not all that much different.
