i've been told that the batteris on y revo should be changed after each full days play so that no unfortunate "stoppages" happen. We all know cos the telly tells us that duracell goes on and on and on and on ( or was that a washing machine advert ) Anyway for cost effectiveness are rechargables any good or don't they last long enough?

if you are thinking of switching to nicads watch out

before you go out and buy a charger and a set of nicads read theinstructions that came with your hopper. The reason for this is that nicads have a higher current rating than normal batteries and thus could damage your hoppers electronics.
usually the instructions will say not to use nicads if the electronics are subsceptable to damage from an increase in current.

although the initial outlay on nicads is high you will save money in the long run.The average duracell should last about 4000 shots in your hopper (although don't quote me on this) at about 3 quid a piece.
If you consider that you can recharge a nicad about 1000 times in the long run you will save cash in a big way even if you buy a few sets to ensure you always have a spare set ready. the only problem is that nicads don't last as long as long-life's from a full charge so it would be safer to swap them with a new set about half way through the day.

Don't worry about hoppers electronics, they'll be fine.
ni-cad's (nickel cadmium) only produce 8.4v at about 110mAH whearas a normal battrey
gives 9v at about 200mAH. if your thinking of getting re-chargables get ni-mh (nickel metal hydride)
, they have the same voltage as ni-cad's but a higher current rating (150mAH) and will power your hopper longer.
they CANNOT destroy your hopper cos it will only take the amount of current it needs from the battries, it's the voltage that's important.
if you get ni-mh battries you will have to get a ni-mh charger, they charge different to ni-cad's
as for cost effectiveness, i've been playing 12 years and have always used rechargables, so far i've had to buy 6 @ £5 each,
if your replacing your battries each time you play do some sums and you'll probably come to the same conclusion i did.:D

like i said don't bother with ni-cad's, any manufacture that is making ni-mh battries will be nocking out good quality ones, they cost a little more but they are worth it, just remember, get the proper charger.
