Can someone please explain why the unofficial ruling on ramping to date, has now been officially reversed starting at Paris, as per the captain's meeting at DMA?

Thanks

I dont think ramping should have every been introduced its takes the full point out of the game being a semi auto game if u want to be able to shoot 15bps then train yourself to do it! I think Robbos right and it will ruin paintball! Paintball is all about skill we are starting to rely on tecnolagy a little to much to get us out of haveing to do some good old fashiond learning!

Because someone soon is going to get there ar$e sued off for breaking firearms laws left, right and centre!

Educated speculation says whoever insures or underwrites the insurnace for the MS took a long hard look at ramping and decided the risks were to great.

Anyway, ramping is g@y and we should all just get bionic fingers!

And my educated guess is that some people talk crap.
They have not said it is banned at all, in fact their wording may allow full auto if you chose to read it that way.
What is stated is that no marker may shoot more than one shot after realease so if you wish you could start your ramp at 7bps and cap it at 14 so you would only get one extra shot.
Or has I stated maybe have capped full auto after the forth shot.

Russ

I do agree that they are doing themselves no favours in not making their rule in this matter clear.

Russ could you answer me this about the PA...

Say player B is shot to **** by player A who is using ramping, and player B is seriously injured and wants to sue for compensation. Who is responsible? Who is liable? What would happen to the PA and its insurance?

Russel, perhaps you came away from the Captains meeting at the DMA with a different understanding from mine. Assisted modes will not be allowed as from the 7 man world cup, any player caught using anything other than true semi will be penalised. Also at the DMA anyone using a ramping marker who gets sued for injury will be liable personally, the MS, its staff, the promotors of the event yada yada yada will not be held responsible. Or am I on glue?

Ian,

Every event this year at the MS has been semi only if you read their rules.
And you could not use the PSP ramping mode but a lot did and they did sod all about it, no bother about that but it would be nice and dare I say the right thing to do if they let the paying customers know.
Teams pay a great deal of money and not just in entry fees to play these events it would not be unfair for the MS to post on paintball forums the rules as they WILL be inforcing them.
Or maybe its all an inside job and the real plan is to cause the MS to lose player support and make the players agrieved enough so next year if the NPPL comes to Europe the ones at MS who will jump ship will be in a stronger position.
Or maybe we are both on glue.;)
