I have a problem/s with my rail 09 ;

firstly I wanted to make sure everything was in order so I turned the rail on and put a ball in the breech so the eyes were green , so far so good
then as I fired the eyes flashed green , I then looked at the manual and changed the battery , they flashed green again
I have never used the rail or even fired it so I dont see how the eyes could be dirty , I have only just taken it out the box
I cleaned them with a swab anyway , then I thought , well I don't need the eyes just to fire once so I turned the eyes off , the red light then blinked as well
Is it something to do with the bolt? , I dont see why I should be buying replacments for a proto amrker before Ive even played with it.

ribbon cable

OK When I air up the gun and find it to be continuing I will know the problem ,
In the case of a back-to-front cable - firstly is it the flat cable with browny gold colour?

And would I have to remove it or get a qualified tech to do it?

OR would I need to get a new set of eyes for the marker?

Just make sure you dont snap it lol!! Yes its a browny gold ribbon that slots into the board usually held in place by a little slider type thing (best way i can describe it lol) have a look in your manual and it will show you which way the wire should be.

Not to sure how the eyes themselves fit in the pmr but it could be the eyes are not seeing each other properly and ya may need to remove the eye covers and try and align them properly (do this first and see if it works).

Because proto is dye to be honest if its new take it back and dye fix it no probs whatsoever, dyes tech support and customer service is 2nd to non. Maybe worth posting something in the dye section of this forum and pretty much as a dead cert someone from dye will help you out :D

What you are describing is perfectly normal.

The eyes work as follows:

When there is nothing in the breach and the eyes can see each other, the board will show a red light. When a ball is placed in the breach, the light will change to green to indicate that the PMR is loaded and ready to shoot.

When you shoot the breach has to clear, this means that the eyes momentarily can see each other before the next ball drops into the breach. If the breach does not clear, then the LED will flash green to indicate this.

Try putting your finger in the breach and wiggling it around so that you are breaking the beam and allowing it to complete again. If the LED goes from red to green and back as you do this, the eyes are fine.

If you have any other problems, contact me when I return to the office on January 5th - eurotech@dyeprecision.com
