Does anyone here use a racegun cocker? I went to their webpage and looked around and didn't really see the advantage to putting that much money into the process. It would cost less to buy a very good electro and not have to tinker with anything. Do they work well? I would think that the cocker's design wouldn't stand up to the higher rates of fire, but that is just my hunch. Anyone who has used one or owns one, please tell me the advantages and disadvantages of the electric mods like the one produced by racegun. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm in the process of building one. I've just got to decide which body to use the AKALMP Merlin Kit or the AirAmerica. I'm using the e-front block and Palmer Parts. I hope to have if finished for Simply The Best @ Elsham.

Ohh and by the way Race are brining out a half back block version which should make it unbeleavabley fast.

Mmmmm, Racegun!
The benefits of the electro are well known, and don't really need going over again (but I will ;) ) - the ability to sweetspot someone, when you snapshoot you can get out a couple of extra balls, and towards the end of a game, your fingers aren't tired, so you can still nail people as they make the moves.
In all honesty, a hinge trigger will go as fast as an electro, but you lose the above benefits. Also, you can't short stroke an electro trigger, or fit an anti-chop eye to a hinge trigger.

Out of all the electro cocker conversions, the race using an electronic 5-way up front makes it a lot more precise to time, and you can plug it into a palm on site if you need to adjust anything.

Also, the Race has a new board on the way which uses a leaf switch instead of a dome swich, which apart from the main effect of reducing trigger bouce a heck of a lot, feels amazing.

Not to mention the fact that out of all the electro-cockers the race is the only one that has "classic" mode - you hold the trigger back, the back block stays back, and let's be honest, that's why we like cockers.

race guns

shockwave 3 have been using race guns in there milleium series tournaments and all i can say is there rock,
coming from a angel my self i thoght no way a cocker can fire faster than the angel.
I WAS WRONG
with the race gun you get the speed ofa angel and the ball on ball of a cocker.
i know everyone says cocker are ball on ball, but think a angel fast ball on ball marker(THAT WILL BE THE RACEGUN).
shockwave 3 are using race guns at stockholm again,
in my opion wy setttle for shoot and spray when you can shoot and hit what you r shooting at .
the mods to the guns are simple to do and the wearan tear is no mre than if you were to fire your cocker the same amount of times.
as for its lok well certain electro grips are ugly but not the race.
if you r in stockholm come and have a chat with us orthe race gun stand we will be more than happy to show you what this marker can really do.
shockwave 3 (4th so far in the millenium novice rankings)

I have a race frame on my Spearhead Cocker and love it. Effortless fast shooting with right and left hands...

I'm just in the process of fitting an eye to it :)

It's the best thing that has happened for the cocker in years and the race frame is the best electro conversion I've seen.

Raceguns!!

This is what i've collected through talking to some of the danish members of the Racegun Firm...

They love the Cocker, because it is a marker which can basically be setup 100% exactly like you want it...
You can adjust about everything of it more precisely than on any other marker available!!
The Cocker has a reputation for being the most precise marker (next to the shocker...) available...
And yes... They can make it shoot as fast as any other marker in the world - without breaks!! Only limit is your fingers...

Now you add the grip with all the before mentioned advantages of an electro...

Their Short-Block looks very awesome... The grip looks awesome... The capabilities are awesome...

PS. The crew is awesome too... At least the ones I know!!

The RaceGun frames are extensively tournament tested by Lockout in the Pro NPPL, NBK in the Millenium amateur division and by recently Shockwave Three in the Novice Millenium division.

Over only a few years, the RaceGun computer grip has evolved thanks to the extensive feedback of these tournament players and thanks to the input of the growing community of RaceGun users.

The investment RaceGun manage to make in Research and Development and the brave technical choices they have made have a lead to an incredible product for the paintball players.

Because we're players in RaceGun crew in the first place, we made a frame which will allow you to reach your own limits on the concept fields of today. We also kept the reliability of the cocker and the possibilities to fiddle with it in the total cocker spirit.

If you go on PBnation or the Racegun forum you'll be able to ask the core of the RaceGun users and make up your own mind by reading their posts. You'll be probably surprised how the community help a player which is having question, you'll probably be even more surprise to realize that people are able to solve themselves 99% of their wonderings.

Don't worry, I talk a lot because I'm french! To answer more precisely to your post, we choosed to replace the mechanical threeways at the front of the cocker by an electropneumatic five ways. This five ways has been improved as we decreased it size and changed the design of its protective bracket. This five ways is similar to what you could find in the other top end electro markers. It is made to sustain high ROF for a very long time...

But enough talking! 'cause I could talk for hours, some people knows it here! Come to us in sweden or at the Campaign cup (if we are there it's not confirmed yet...) and we will let you try by yourself at the chrono station.

Then, you'll join the dark side of the Force, like we all did ....when we got offered the possibility to have Accuracy, Volume, Reliability in the same gun!

Wish I could make that. Unfortunately I am stuck here in Texas working. Thanks for the input though. I am thinking about building one from the ground up now. Best cocker body to start with anyone?

Angel v Cocker(RaceGun)

Hi,

I've used a Cocker since the days of Budd Orre Sniper II's - and never wanted to change but a year or so ago upgraded to an Angel - coz my poor old first generation Autococker couldn't keep up with the Angels, and Shockers and I could afford a second hand Angel.. This Xmas (as a special pressie to me) I bought an Evolution with a RaceGun Grip - it's outstanding!

All the speed of the Angel, but far more superior accuracy - which is one thing I find hard to understand.. After market barrels for Angels and Cockers, are usually made by the same manufacturer, that is Dye will make a barrel for a cocker probably on the same machine they make one for the Angel on - just the thread will be different - yet the accuracy is 10 times better for the cocker..

Anyhow, just wanted to say that if you have the choice - go for the RaceGun Grip - its true they are a bit more complex to set up, but once set they rock..
