Yo I'm thinkin of havin a race gun frame put upon my cocker, its an eclipse cocker. Opinions would be great by users and distributers. advantages + dis-advantages would also be cool.
Peace-out. Rob:D

I assume you've been visiting www.racegun.dk and keeping an eye on the threads there.

As far as I can tell the racegun is the DN's. I've had a chat with a few people that have bought them and have done nothing but rave about them, (well they would!). I think Ledz from the Banzais was running one, Jules at Planet let me take a look at one of their cockers with one on and the pull is stupidly short.

I'm waiting for the much promised singing-n-dancing review by PGI, especially as the price of the race has been creeping up and up since I first saw the article about the grip in PGI in Issue 149.

Now they've got the anti-chop eye it looks even better.

The cons to the frame is that it's getting seriously expensive

£428.12 for the frame alone, plus £20 odd quid fitting plus near £100 for the ACE plus shipping etc it's getting to be a tidy sum.

I've been a fan for ages, but I have to say ATM it's a tidy chunk of change and I'm wondering if it's really worth it.

Still want one though, lottery win time though :)

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
I see my reputation precedes me!

Disadvantages: Cost, cost, and, erm cost. Also, if my experiences are anything to go by your paint bill will sky-rocket. Hopefully you play on a team who shares the bill at the end of the day ;)

Advantages: easy to time - just plug into your pc and set each aspect of the firing cycle (eg bolt open time, time bolt stays open etc., etc). You thought your cocker was fast already? Wrong! :D Also - no matter which cack-handed friend uses your marker - he'll never be able to short stroke it!

In all honesty, a blade frame is just as fast, maybe faster, due to it being not limited by the electronics.

For the 1st 30 seconds of the game anyways. You get the old problem of tiring fingers on mechanical triggers, which is gone on the race frame.

I notice your location is quite close to Pompey Rob, if ya want to pop down one evening/weekend afternoon to see one in person then drop me an email via the link in my profile on here and we can hook up sometime. I'm currently trying to get an air fill for my new geddon, but if it comes down to it I can hook up a housemates reg and bottom line and run it CO2.
