I've known bottles to have a small amount of low strength loctite on the threads, but that only causes problems when the bottle needs to be removed.

Don't use any tape or glue of any kind, firmly screw the valve into the bottle and that's it, ready to go.

What gun are you using the bottles on, as you might need an anti-siphon tube fitted before you assemble the bottle and valve.

These are easy to fit, you screw the valve into the gun, make sure it's fully in, then get the anti-siphon tube and screw this into the protuding end of the valve (there will be a threaded hole about 8mm in diameter). Then bend the anti-siphon tube upwards, so that if the bottle was on it would more or less touch the inside of the bottle.

After all this you can screw the bottle on over the tube.

Easy !!!

its a bit dodgey tho!

not using loctite, ive known everyone to use loctite on co2 bottles just to make sure, mainly because on site guns constantly unscrewing them, and even on your own stuff especially if they are pin valve, cos then they will be harder to unscrew!
even with loctite ive seen someone unscrew (not fully thank god) a valve from the full bottle.
and all you have to do is heat it to unscrew it - easy!.
go safe, and use loctite dude.

I've been changing anti-siphons on bottles for the last 10 years, and i have never used loctite, and never ever had a bottle come off the valve. Admitted though, i make sure the bottle is on securely, but if you feel that in your case you would prefer using loctite, please fell free to use it

Enjoy your paintballing.

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
O-ring at the base of the valve, some ptfe wrapped round the threads, just make sure you wrap it the right way round, and off you go!

Easiest way to get them nice and tight is to pad a vice with some soft wood blocks, covered with a towel and gently grip the bottle in that, before using a good spanner to tighten the valve in.

Been doing it for years on our site bottles and had no problems at all. Please note I said gently grip the bottle in the vice!:)

A bottle with flat sides is not a good thing!!!
