I'm sure I heard from one of you lot that Paintball had been outlawed in the woods in some of your countries, and therefore only played on concept fields, such as sup'air, etc.

1) Is this correct?

2) If so, how has this affected the punter (recreational) side of the scene?

Please feel free to slap me.....

Well to some degree your right! i know in germany there is strikt laws how to play and so on... something about how the markers look like...they may not look like a weapon of any kind In Denmark sadly the paintball scene is almost dead.. rec ball is not big there and now it looks like the tournament scene is going down the drain too.... only a couble teams are still trying to get new players in the sport... Sweden has (thank you) very good laws about pball... you cant play anywere u like if u just got the landowners ok.. 18years of age is the only law... Recball is not that big thingy over here... those who look after that kind of xitment go and play softairguns and things like that here in sweden... But we prefer to play concept fields like sup´air, hyperball, speedball yeah u get it...Finland and Norway i dont know that mutch about but i think they got pretty good paintballing going on... ang growing in numbers of active people..

Thanks for that info dude!

The reason I was asking was that I am wondering if Paying customers would be into having a go at a purely concept site or not.........

What I mean is, do you think that customers would pay to play paintball the way we (tourney players) play it? If there were no trees or forts or villages in site?

From personal experience:
I used to do some marshalling at a site that had 3 different woodland fields, a speedball field, and a 7 man Sup field (with bigass spider in the middle). Most rentals liked playing the Sup or speedball for one game, maybe two, but most preferred the woods when given a choice. After all, most come to a site with the intention to be Rambo for a day.
Personally I'm starting to dislike the woods more and more, particularly during summer, when all the damn musquitoes come out to drain ya.....
