Hi guys, this is aimed at the U.S military personnel that are based over here.
Is the postage from the states to the UK bases, the same as postage within the U.S?
And is it faster? I.e. less time at customs.

I'm not us military, but they have a similar system to BFPO for our armed services abroad.
If a US retailer supports it then its treated as if its in the US

I don't know if it bypasses customs, but can get treated as being US.
If there is an intent to import to the uk and evade customs then its dodgy dealing

I thought they did, from talking to some of the guys who were attached to my old unit. I just wasnt too sure maybe a currently serving American could shed some light a little more in detail.

I wouldnt do it to avoid customs, I was just saying for me to order a ule body from the U.S, most of the sellers wont send to the U.K. but if they have "U.S" postal address here in the UK, they may be more inclined to ship here.

Other options (which will become a bit convoluted) are to buy a us address post box forwarding service - you give a us address and the service forward to you, or to get it sent to a real us address and have a friend forward on to you.
The second option means two postage charges (and if you like they can open it and check its all fine before forwarding, the first will come with extra fees

The quickest option would be direct international post, using a service addressee should save international postage costs
