Generation 1s have a plastic ball in the QPod and need to be adjusted when bought new, and adusted whenever disassembled/reassembled, as the sring tension is lost when dismantled.

Generation 2s do not have the plastic ball and the spring retains its adjustments when the Qod is disassembled. It does not need to be adjusted when bought new as it is set to a default setting.
It should only be adjusted to tune to the setup. A lot of QLoader buyers had a bad exerience because they were misadvised by other players, or saw the advice on how to setup a generation 1.

A new QLoader owner should never take apart/adjust the QPod until they have tested everything out.

There is a reputed 3rd generation when QLoader were bought out and word went around the US forums that inferior materials were used to cut costs.
