What does this mean?

A friend is looking at buying a marker from the states, its come with a bottle but I am sure I have read somewhere that you can use USA bottle over here? Is this true?

You will not be able to fill a US marked tank in the UK. The are DOT marker. Pye is rated only in europe but not US. You can now get tri labled tanks such as the new PMI which ore good for both sides of the pond.

no one will fill them ,but you are perfectly safe to do it yourself from a dive tank ... they have exactly the same fitings
