I've found a deal on ebay fo a Pure Energy HPA system with 48CU bottle and 3000 psi regulator.
for $69.99 (£45 or there abouts about what I was going to pay for a co2 bottle)

Is this worth it? is this system a good buy? will it be relieable? will I get plenty of shots out of it? what will I need to get on top of it?
(I can get refills at my local field and i'm not willing to pay all the extra for a dive tank, fill station etc..)

I've also been offered an Arrow 3000 psi system for £199 are arrow any good? especially in comparison to the above.

I'm waiting for the 2002 cocker i've ordered to arrive and I'm torn between getting a co2 bottle or paying a bit more for an air system, but not much more as I'm on a budget here.

Some advice would be apprciated here, and please don't just say get an Armaggedon or an Angel Air.

Cerberus, either get a 45c.i. 4500 system, or a 68c.i. 3000. That'll give you around 800 shots, and that's really about as low as you should go if you're thinking long-term. If you decide to get into tournies, or even scenarios, you'll want to have atleast that much air. The two tank sizes I listed are usually used by front players who don't use as much air as their counter-parts in the back, the small size makes it easier to play tight.
If you're just getting one to play open session, then any of those little tanks like the one you described would be fine. I have a PMI (Pure Energy) tank, and it's great. Just think about what you want out of your new air system. Good luck. :)

Thanks it just occuerd to me how little a 45 tank is
I do plan on doing tourneys at novice level we're setting up at team at Derby Uni, and as a back player I'm going to need plenty of air.

WARNING

Cerebrus... If u r in the UK and buying an air system, you have to be careful... American Air Bottles are DOT rated and the UK has stricter testing standards called HSE. That means that should u end up with a DOT bottle, you will not be able to use it in the UK and would have to replace it with an HSE one.

Hey Kieran, does that affect the American teams that come over to play tournies? On that same note, would it affect me if I were to fly over, only to play open session? I'm curious, as that's the first I've heard that. I'd be SOL when I showed up at the site, "I need to get a new air system!?!" Thanks for the info, Kieran.

Manning - Doesn't effect American's who come over here to play a tourney... for some reason it has been sorted so they are exempt... I don't really know about if you came over for an openn session but I assume the same rules apply. Best thing is just not to mention anything if that was the case... I've never heard of a site that would check test dates over here let alone whether a tank is DOT or HSE... can't see it being a problem mate.

What I have heard from a number of reliable sources is that very strict rules will be made on the DOT and HSE bottles in the new year, and suppliers are more thasn likely going to whack up the prices of HSE bottles due to the UK and I think Europe all HAVING to use HSE bottles!!!!!!!
