Ok, so I haven't played in almost a year now as I've been bushed with school and work. My current gun definitely needs to be retired, its the original matrix prototype that I got off of someone from GenE when they were first coming out. The thing is a tank, and I run front :-( I've decided to come back to play the sport I love so much and I definitely want some new gear. I already have a halo and an egg w y-board, and any other necessities, just need a new marker.

so, anyone have suggestions or reviews on any of the top markers out today? I played with a DM4 at my last tourney and loved it which was why I think I'd like the proto 06, but dunno anyone who has one that I can toy with yet. shockers I love because they are so damn light and the ones I played with worked great for me, but again, not sure what way to go with those. another favorite that I loved was the karnivorr cocker that came out a few years ago, but not sure what the newer version of that would be. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks

all i can suggest is that you go to your local site or if there is a local tournament around you. and ask a proto 06/shocker owner about the PROs and CONs of their guns. also, ask them for a go on the gun and see how you think it feels to your liking.

after all, the major element in the choice of guns comes down to personal preferance.

thats normally what I'd do, but like I said I haven't played in some time norhave I been to a field in that time, I just want some back story to the high-end markers out there (as in what falls apart, what holds together, drop off, breakdown, pressure, etc) that way I can try to narrow down my choices a little bit, otherwise I'll just be jacking everyones gun for a try :)

Ego seems to be the marker of choice for most of Europe these days!

Pm6 gets an excellent reputation as does the DM6 however the Dm6 was prone to some teething problems.

I think alias based timmies have fallen from grace somewhat as have angels though they are a well built marker, there is something new on the horizon from WDP which apparently is going to reinvent their product.

best thing to do is get down to a tourney or field somewhere and ask around, most people will be more than happy to give you a shot.

I've seen these around a bit but didn't know the name or what the hell they were. I think the bushwackers are playing with these right? I should be able to borrow one from a buddy and try it out

I think thats always been the deal with matrixes, they are usually a bit fussy on first release but once they've gotten some time to get the kinks out its smooth sailin

Last timmy I played with was a GZ, and as for WDP I've liked some of their guns in the past... but then again some of them just well, aren't for me. I'll keep an eye out for em though.

Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for, just a little info on whats out and going on before I head down. Much appreciated. Mainly I want to play again because a few old teamates reformed a new team, as well as another friend of mine has been trying to get me to come out and play for his team, I just want to play again (and hopefully get a paint sponsor :-P lol)
