The Millennium Series allowed the PSP ramp mode at the Maxs Masters. Thats what German players on www.pbhub.de posted yesterday night.

Means: 3 shots, then ramp to 15 as long as you still pull the trigger.

I personally think that this is a bad joke. The Millennium itself is altering the game so much that it seems to become a joke itself :(

I really dislike this trend.

What are your thoughts ?

apparently, similar debates took place when semi's first hit the scene... when I started playing, semi's were already common place, but you still had alot of purists saying that the game had been ruined by the arrival of semi's, and that everyone should play with pumps at least once... I'd personally much rather play/watch a modern tourney, than what you'd have if people were still slamming pumps around the field...

I guess it's just evolution. If it doesn't work out, people will go back to semi only... but the only way that's gonna happen is if someone starts running no-electro (ie, mechanical-only) tourneys.

So true- I was there and at the time top teams started complaining that the semis were killing the game; all novice teams had to do was dig in and hide behind streams of paint. Then they all got semis as well and the rest is history. I remember seeing a picture of a pump player shooting someone from about a foot over the top of his barricade that provoked much controversy at the time re safety- now we mug each other merrily and laugh;)
Whenever the game changes people bemoan a loss of skill- I can slam-fire a Sterling pretty quick but would find complaining about that being a lost art as silly as all the finger diddling players sound now whining about the "skill" involved in walking a trigger. I have a feeling in a few years time we'll all feel a bit daft looking back over all this fuss.

The pro's/con's of ramp has been done to death else where (btw i like it).

I came on the net tonight specifically to find out what would be happening at bitberg, as the millenium say ramp is banned. I can understand having to have that in the rules to pay lip service to the local law. If that is the reason, guess we'll see in the next few weeks perhaps. If not it is a bit strange.

Edit: How many on the bps counter devices did they have?

for me its not the pros/cons of ramping thats the issue as its been doune to death on the forums already. Its the fact the MS did'nt just frount up in the rule book and state PSP ramping allowed from the very begining instead of the whole ' no rule to test it' debackle !!
