This was posted yesterday on Smacktalk by a person calling themself "Johnny of NPS". No way to know if it is authentic.

We are actually updating the site(s) as we speak. both www.npplinfo.com and www.nppl.com should be up and running by monday, but please don't hold me to that. as for the dates, they are based around the same weekends as last year, with the exception of Atlantic City, that has been moved up one week, since Debra moved the IAO, and by the success of the Aruba Open to help spread out the dates some. PSP is doing everything we can to eliminate the confussion that is going around concerning NPPL or PSP from: what to do? Where to play? who is who?
__________________________

This would mean the dates for PSP events would be (as I interpret this):

March 5-9:Los Angeles

April 30-May 4:Las Vegas

June 18-22:Chicago

August 20-24: Atlantic City

October 10-26:World Cup

Be interesting to see how the mysteries continue to unfold.

If the above info is correct this is what the calendar might look like for a busy team without the NPPL Super 7 Series:
___________________________

February 19-23: Diablo Mardi Gras

March 5-9: PSP Los Angeles

March 28-30: Milennium Lisbon, Portugal

April 18-20: Millennium Max Masters Bitburg, Germany

April 30-May 4: PSP Las Vegas

May 23-25: Millennium Amsterdam, Netherlands

June 18-22: PSP Chicago

July 4-6: Millennium Toulouse, France

August 1-3: Millennium Joy Masters, Stockholm, Sweden

August 20-24: PSP Atlantic City

?: International Open (can't be called amateur anymore, can it?)

September 12-14: Millennium Campaign Cup, London, England

?: Aruba

October 19-26: PSP World Cup, Orlando (or Miami?)

Then there are the Polish Open and the Danish Open, among others.

NOTE: This is all mere speculation based on very limited information or misinformation. Be interesting to see where the NPPL Super 7 will try to fit themselves in. And the Millennium dates have not yet been announced. These are just my guesses based on last year's schedule.

Another thing: Whatta bloom' mess with the Web sites!

Chuck's site: http://www.nppl.info/

But whaddup with these sites PSP and NPS are talking about?

http://www.npplinfo.com/

http://www.nppl.com/

Looks to me like dirty tricks just to keep confusion going, or whuut? Seems like the honorable thing to do would be to leave the NPPL name to Chuck and start consistently using the PSP name that has already been built up. Don't look good to me.

Whadda y'all think?

If anyone remembers correctly. The NPPL name has always been PSP's. It was first incorporated by Jerry Braun many years ago as have the web domain.

That's why I was confused that Chuck was able to come out and use the NPPL name. Has he purchased the rights to use the name for the Super 7 Series? And why is the PSP name being used? Seems confusing for the common joe.

Just noticed that the new PSP site is up. Again under NPPL's name. This is what they call themselves:

The PSP event dates I posted above were spot on.

Original corporation registered in New York has been defunct do to neglect since, what, '99? Thereafter at some point Chuck registered NPPL, Inc.
"Player's" organization has, however, been more or less in constant existence with bona fide(?) elected reps and some degree of continuity and has had ongoing agreement with PSP, and with the separate promoters prior to formation of PSP, though exactly what form that accord has taken over the years I've no idea.
Bottom line, PSP is claiming use rights do to past use of NPPL name, and to get them to stop current NPPL, Inc. would have to initiate a legal wrangle which undoubtedly would take a very long time and enough money to put them off--So it looks like we're stuck with dueling NPPLs as both sides want to claim the "legitimacy" of the name as their own.
Not like it's gonna fool anybody.
(Maybe Chuck has signed up for domain control over PSP.com and can start posting "official" schedules, etc. too. :D )

Now taking bets on how long it takes Gino to buy the whole enchilada. :)

Looks to me like sandbox mentality and PSP is taking the low moral ground unless Chuck is playing the dirty game you're speculating about. Why don't people grow up? Oh, well. Don't see any better in the world of politics, big business, big sports, etc.
