Proto Matrix Detents....

I have a proto matrix rail 09
and I'm having a frequent and irritating problem w/ the detents, after finishing around 2-5 pots, my marker double/triple feeds resulting in appalling accuracy and uncountable amounts of chopping.
when I de-gas , take of my hopper and barrel I look inside to see both detents are "missing" , I take off the eye-covers and they are either sideways in the eye-cover or just loose. I have to replace them all the time and cant afford to have this sort of performance when I'm playing proper tourneys and such.

does anyone have/had previously this problem and have suggestions as to how I could prevent this?

Are the springs still behind the detents when you take the eye cover off?

yes, the springs are still behind the detents, but are an angle or the whole detent had come away from the hole where they are inserted.

sounds like you need new springs they may be worn out and not applying enough pressure to keep them in

should I look for slightly longer springs elsewhere?

Also , would the tension of the springs affect the utilisation of the detents , i thought that if the the tension was too high then the detends wouldn't allow balls to pass through at all?

but if they arent strong enough the paintballs could push the detents back to far

ok cheers mate , I'll look now for longer ones , the current ones aren't very strong at all so the tension may not be a problem

not neccesarily longer just higher level of tension

My PMR 09 shoots ok without any sping behind the detents

I haven't noticed any double feeds!??!?!?

sam, i got a few PMR detents but they are from my old PMR spares kit. If they fit you can have them if you are running out.
