Proto Lucky board Help plzzzz

I've got some lucky boards I want to test but theres more holes on the board than pins on the chips! anyone got any idea which holes are used and which way up the chip goes

Any help would be good cheers

What chip you trying to put in?? these take UN1CHIP and DM4/5/C i believe

Trying to put a Virtue DM5 chip in, just not sure which end they go?

normally with a dil (dual in line packet) chip the recess on the chip goes towards the recess on the socket as far over as you get get it.

The spare pins are on the end of the chip without the locating recess.


Those pins are for future support of serial communications.


EDIT to add:
In practice you can just try combinations until it works, all that happens is the board wont power up, you wont be able to break anything unless you leave it powered up for a long time.
But I never told you that OK...

The Virtue chip doesn't work in them but thats probably cos it's non LBI (was told it would) Dye Millennium chips dont work either infact the only ones that do (that I have) are std DM chips which is defeating the object of having the board in the first place

Neil im not sure what you are saying.
The virtue chip is non LBI?
Is that correct?? As I thought they were able to function in both boards.

Yeah thats right, as was also told it would work in the lucky board but it does'nt, and all the dye ramp chips do is srcoll thou the colour menu as if there in setup mode, there doesn't seem to be any switches on the board that you can access either

It looks like theres dip switches on it but you cant access them.
