I was having trouble getting the eye to see black balls at first, but it seems to be working better now. I don't know what the difference was, either. I set the eye all the way up and couldn't get it to admit there was a ball chambered for the first couple times out (with black). Then, a few weeks ago I was forced to use black/gold shell and got it to read fine. No difference except maybe warmer temperatures the last time there.

I've heard that before. Was told that the eye can see matte (non-shiny) balls but not shiny ones (or maybe it's the other way around... ) Any1 know?

I think 7lash has posted here that they've had no problems with the eye seeing paint as long as it was set and to let them, (Planet) know if you're having any issues with a type of paint.

I suggest dropping them a line asking about it.

Shells

I have only been told to stay away from dual colour shells that are really opposite (i.e black/white shell) this is due to the eye getting 2 different readings for each colour, and if you have the eye set too tight (mine is set to 15, with the bolt open it reads 120ish, with it closed it reads 8) it can cause probs.

Build quality is spot on, I did buy the marker complete from them, so I got all the goodies together.

I developed a persistant leak from the front solenoid this weekend. I diagnosed this as foreign matter in the 'noid. Upon disassembly, I removed a small piece of shell. Easy so far.

The real problem occured upon reassembly. I work in an organized manner, and putting the solenoid together was simple. But, as I was securing the gas-through screws on top of the 'noid manifold I ruptured the sealing washers. No problem, I thought. I put on some thin nylon washers and tried tightening the screws again. This time, I sheared the screws at the two holes on the shaft.

Maybe this is one of those "why did you mess with that, you foolish monkey?" kind of situations. It really looked like one of those "how hard could it be?" situations. The solenoid was easy to pull apart and clean/ lube, and it was easy to reassemble. The difficulty as in the outermost screws and washers.

I have appealed to Planet to save me or advise.

I post this because I am now having a problem with my E-blade. I hope that others will avoid this situation. The shell in the solenoid was kinda wierd... how did it get in there? As to the rest, well... be a smarter monkey than I.
