Problem with my 5000psi tank

Hi guys,

I received this morning an air tank bought off someone on these forums. It's a 5000psi 0.8l fibre-wrapped tank (made by PMI, I think - Got the radioactive bubble logo on the reg)

It has about 1000psi in it and I aired up my Ion with it to make sure it works. When dryfiring, most shots fired OK (air was released etc) but on an odd few shots, only a minute amount of air was released (nowhere near as much as a normal shot).

Had a chat to a couple of people who reckon its a sticky spring stack? Just wondering how I would go about fixing this so I can get it to work for Sunday at the NSPL or Friday when I'm playing woodsball (if possible).

Cheers,

-Will

Battery is fine - All works perfectly with my 3000psi tank. Think its likely to be the lack of pressure in the tank - Gonna air it up when I next get to a fill station and try it then.

Cheers,

might sound like a silly question but is there enuf air in the tank for the ion??
have u tried firing paint throu it?? does it fire it ok?
does a ion use hp or lp or does the gun sort that out its self?

just a thought.

i had a ws66 that wudnt even recock when it got to 1000psi.

It seems most probable that it doesn't have enough air in the tank to recock, although it seems weird that the 3000psi steel tank fires when it has less air in than the fibre tank. On Ion's, the gun sorts out HP/LP itself I believe.

bunnyblaster, will lube the bolt regardless - thanks for the tip.

Should have it figured out now, thanks guys. Won't be able to tell until Friday.

the regs they put on the tanks are not the most accurate in the world. Probably not enough air in the tank to run the gun when continuously firing.
