Hi guys,

Received a SP 360 QEV in the post this morning and went about installing it about an hour and a half ago. Supposed to be an easy install and I think I made a mountain out of a molehill of it, but still...:

In fitting it, I was taking the Ion eyes cable in/out a lot and as you can imagine it got in the way a fair bit when trying to fit the QEV. I finally got it all back together and cautiouslly aired it up. Thankfully there is no leaking and it fires alright. Problem is, it fires whether the eyes are on OR off on the board (i.e. it fires as soon as I turn it on, even when the breach is clear).

Now as for the actual eyes, I only took them out once when I was lubing up the bolt so I *doubt* its them. It seems likely that the actual cable going from the board to the eyes is damaged in some way, just hoping someone can confirm this is whats likely to have happened? If so, where can I get a replacement cable?

On a side note, am I right in thinking that the installation of a QEV affects the motion of the trigger? I had to re-tune my trigger pull slightly as it was completely stiff once the marker was back together. Not really an issue as that part works fine now.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You can get an extended cable from lucky this fits better with QEV's but check to make sure its plugged in and in the right modes first.

Okay, appreciate the help Rowely. I can't face the marker again tonight but tomorrow I'll strip it down again and make sure everything is where it should be...Guess it could be that the cable just isn't in correctly.

If it still doens't work, will definately get the eye cable from Lucky - helpfully extended for QEV's :)

Onto the second part of my question, is it known that the positioning of the QEV can interfere with the trigger pull?

Cheers,

-Will

You might also want to check the eyes are correctly aligned, they do have a bit of a bend in them but it doesnt matter, just make sure they are vaugely looking at each other sometimes one is higer than the other...

Thanks for the help guys. I've taken it apart again and the actual eye board looks fine, but on very close inspection of the eye wire it looks like it was trapped in something and one of the wires has a broken contact.

Time to order a lucky eye wire ;)

1st ORDER 2 or 3 wires not 1 *

2nd thing when you 1st put the ION on, its eyes on mode it fires yes?

If you press the on button what then happens? it fires yes?

Is the wire pinched? If so replace it anyway ok, also look at the eye board and make Shaw that their is no OLD solder bent over and touching something or its earthling on the body.

Ok back to the QEV thing have you got spare bolt stop o rings? If not you will need to replace them every 2000 to 4000 balls ( try not to dry fire the gun either)

You will need to drop the dwell till it seams to fire ok and then raise the dwell 3 moor flashes ok.

AND YES it will affect the trigger as there is less kick to the marker so you can set it really fine and it wont bounce (much), remember to adjust the rate of fire to .

Intact just look at this ok www.zdspb.com/tech/mguide/ion/index.html hats my bit

(*You can give 1 to me at nspl bristol on the 29 i also have the trigger for you )
