The quicker you fire the faster you spray paint. So please any ideas why is is happening ?? PS air doesnt make a diffence

Make sure eye's are on and clean. Also Dow 33 should be used as a lubricant not oil. Be sure your paint to barrel bore match isn't too tight, the rain and temperature cause problems too

My guess is brittle paint. First off is the paint sprayed up into your loader and what paint are you using? 2md what loader are you using and what batterys? Another major as mentioned before are you shooting with the eyes on?? :D

(side note since you said your new to PB, when the power light flashes is it a single fast blink a double blink etc etc? Tell us what the light does and maybe a better description of the problem :D )

Now that it's getting a bit colder, summer paint is going to start giving you issues as the shell becomes brittle in low temps and therefore more likely to break in your gun. All the other posters have given good suggestions though so do check that: your eyes are on and clean (will it fire with nothing in the breach?), your hopper is feeding sufficiently quickly, your barrel isn't too small a bore (do balls roll through or get stuck?), and that your detents aren't damaged/frayed/cracked. I can't remember if the Ion has a BIP (ball in place) setting, but if it does, it might be worth upping that a click or two to make sure the ball is settled in the breech (if your hopper isn't a force-feed especially) before firing.

Thank you for your quick answers. I have looked in to some of your coments. I went back to basics and put on a nonfeed hopper and it will fire single to five balls then im painting my fence with splater again !!! My daughter put about 1000 balls all over my kitchen so i know the balls fit the barrel (thay where bined after) the detent is fine. What does the BIP look like so i can tell you if its got one or not ? Time for a stupid question can you explan what "double tap" means please ? I would like to say thanks for all your help with this marker thats having a tantrum.

Dont worry about BIP settings as the ion board doesnt have it anyways.

You said "it will fire single to five balls....", does this meen you shot slowly 5 balls and non broke or does it meen you can shoot upto 5 balls per second approx then it soups?

If it meens you can shoot say 5 balls slowly without any breakage then once again my guess is brittle paint or the barrel to bore match. When your daughter puts the balls down the barrel do they pretty much just roll out then end with no force or anything?

Once again are the eyes on? You know they are if the light blinks quickly when a ball is in the breach or if the marker is empty it wont fire but the power light blinks once per second or so, if they are off the light will just blink twice fast every second or so.

Next have you ever chronographed the marker? If not it could be you have the velocity to high.

Before you do anything really i would get a brand spanking new battery either a duracel or energizer ultimate (silver and blue energizer) and put that in then try it. Lots of times its simply because the battery is going dead or the board simply does not get enough power.

If you can get another brand of paint even just a few balls or so just to try and see if its just the balls. Another quick thing to make sure you clean your barrel out probably (look down it and it should be nice and sparkling) as old paint or whatever in there will cause breaks to.

Try the above if you can then post back up :D
