K i ahve an Ion and I accidentally unscrewed the vertical regulator. I screwed it back in, then decided to see how easy the grip came off (as i'm getting a new one soon). Well a little metal mesh disk fell out think i think its called a disk filter. But it looked odd, the rim was bent in two places. Is this right??? or did i damage it when I screwed the vertical regulator back in????? looks snug up in the the bottom of the front breech if you know what I mean.

edit: soz no-infernomark missed what marker it was when i cut and pasted it.

Is it actually leaking? or is there any sign of problem's with the gun?

I think that little mesh thing act's as a filter. i remember seeing one when watching somone take apart an ion.

Wait for some of the big ion lovers on here to come round and confirm what it is.

meanwhile have you posted on ionowners.com?

ok...that little mesh thing you are on about is the filter. basically one side of it is rounded, the other is flat. the rounded side should be face down in the grip frame when you screw in the reg.

If you bend it in anyway, consider it F**ked. dont try and be clever and balance it on top of your reg when you screw it in as this does not work. (that is how i bent mine).

If in any doubt what so ever, you can get a new one from smartparts. It comes in the ion seals kit which retails at about £15.

hope that helps dude.

K the first when I accidentally unscrewed it the disk did not fall out, the 2nd time it did. It no either seems very snug or stuck ?? Gonna take it around to a m8 to have a look at it. From what I remember it did loom like
one side of it is rounded, the other is flat
cheers for your help guys.
