Well yes some of the very very top teams pay their players a wage, dont think anyone is a millionaire from just playing though. The top teams will have a support package that gives them free equipment and clothing, a paint allowance, casual clothing, bags, pads, goggles everything. But they get this from the hard work they put in 3, 4 or 5 times a week, and hopefully the tournaments they win.

To get yourself on one of these teams you could always ask for a try-out if you think you are good enough. Be prepared for a lot of "no thanks" though.

There have been players join Pro teams after only a few years playing, but they are the special types. Most of us have to work damn hard just to be mediocre.

Play for the fun of it rather than rewards. Then if you do become good enough to get sponsorship, bonus.

There are millions of people playing paintball, and maybe less than a hundred being paid to play for a team! Even then, they will have a short playing career and will have to get another job.
Lots of teams are sponsored, but that doesn't mean free gear all the time. A lot of teams will simply be receiving discounts on kit rather than freebies.
