power feed

KillerOnion

Lord of the Ringtones
The powerfeed design was invented by Airgun Designs to counter the problem of blowback. Basically it is a feed tube welded to the normal right feed tube at an angle pointing back over the gun with an elbow at the bottom. It functions as follows: as an unchambered ball sits at the bottom of the feed and a shot is fired, it bounces back out but against the angled piece and thus back down into the breech, feeding positively all the way in rather than halfway out which would cause a chop. Simple but ingenious and very effective. My first two serious guns, a Mag then a Shocker, had powerfeed and I am very convinced of its effectiveness, particularly with the use of air assist. The only downside is that it puts the hopper higher atop the gun, but this is in all highly preferable over standard feed. I currently shoot vertical feeds on my Cocker and Angel, but there isn't any significant blowback to a Cocker and my Angel uses a high rise and soon will have air assist. If AGD had patented the powerfeed, well, you'd see a lot more Mags out there.
