power connector/plug thing needed

Whilst stripping down my E1 cocker last night i managed to pull one of the wires from the solenoid out of the plug that connects it to the board, any suggestion where i get a replacement? I tried maplin but they don't stock them, I'm fairly certain its identical to the conector thats on the battery harness on my pmr so i figure they are a fairly universal component...

Are the crimps (the little metal bits on the wires) OK?

They used to sell them at farnell. But I just checked and couldnt find them?

its the crimps indide the plastic housing that are the problem, the wire has broken off at the crimp, I'll post a photo when i get home

just looking at the planet website it looks like the conector on the ego solenoid is identical...

You can get the crimps from Farnell. Problem is they are really designed to be machine crimped.

If your up to a little bit of soldering and heatshrinking, I can send you a short length of wire with the right crimp on (FOC).

You would just need to cut the wire down a little and solder the crimped wire i send you to it?

Not exactly like that.

Each individual wire has a crimp on it, which slides in to the housing.
This will be just a short length of wire with a crimp on.

If both crimps are broken I can send you two.


But I dont have the housings (the plastic bit) here to send.

ah ok, I'll have a go and see if i can get the crimps out of the housing, tried last night but to little avail, if I can get them out I'll take you up on your very kind offer. Cheers

OK. No worries.

What works for me is to get a sharp knife under the little plastic levers (which hold the crimps in). Carefully bend them up and the wire will (should) slide out.
