There are no forum rules as to how things should or should not be posted thats down to you and your buyer.

However, I normally add £10 on to my price that I want to cover the costs of sending markers royal mail special delivery insured upto £500.

You must remember untill the gun reaches your buyer you are responsible. So if you cheap out don't get it insured and send it second class, then the gun goes missing, you will have to refund the payment and take the hit for not getting it insured, this is the law.

At the end of the day, a tenner aint a huge ammount and it means you've covered your ass.

send it 'special delivery' not 'recorded delivery'

You have a much higher level of insurance if it goes missing.

£9.65 if it weighs under 1kg but then jumps to £20 quid which as the guy said above is the cost of sending an Ego with box etc...

My experience is 'special delivery' the post office do their best to make sure it gets there...

where as recorded delivery gets thrown in with the ordinary post

With the postal strikes still going on in many places, the only royal mail service worth using currently is special delivery.

One tip I have for parcelforce, is to send the item in a really big box.
It costs the same. And it will reduce the chances of the parcel getting lost and forgotten about in the corner of the parcel force van.
