With paintball getting bigger and bigger, and the fact that the television / big sponsor deals seem to be just around the corner, it's time to try and take the game to the next level.
But we have to get rid of a lot of some of the negative stuff before we can make that step, as we are still seen by the majority of people as weekend Rambo's.
Maybe we can do some brainstorming and come up with a few good ideas for the people responsible who can make changes.

If we look at Mayhem at the weekend, we must learn from the mistakes made, as if Coca Cola or ESPN / Euro sport would have been there with the 6 hour delays and the falling towers, abuse on and off the fields they would have pulled out before the first ball was fired.
We as players need to clean up our act, so let's make it public who's been cautioned by the Millennium Committee, let it be known who smashes up hotels or steals stuff or is cautioned for violent conduct, maybe the their sponsors / team captains will put some pressure on these players and they will be forced to change or leave the sport.

As for the cheating, we all know it goes on, but some players do it at every event they play! we came up with the 141 rule, probably helped a bit, but they still do it, so why not keep track of the 141's, it'll be pretty easy to write them down on the score sheet after every game, you get your score and how many 141 you had, same goes for hot guns or any other punishment.
On the big scoreboard they can put the score of every game, but also what kind of penalty the team got, you could put 96 points for the max and a small red cross for instance in the corner for a 141 they got.
Then at the end of the event you can see exactly how many 141 ect. every teams got and in what game, as you can see the crosses on the board!
If two teams have the same score the team with the lesser crosses / penalties goes through.
Everybody sees who the "dirty" teams are, including their sponsors, and they'll have to cut down on the cheating as there will be no more hiding!
The cheat scores can be put in all the scoreboard including the ones on the Net and in the magazines, everybody can see team A won the event with 488 points and six 141 in total, Team B was second with 445 point and three 141's.
Then slowly we can start increasing the penalties for things like swearing on the field, I don't mean for every **** that's said, but when I get shot out by someone I don't need to hear some abuse about my mother while walking off the field, neither does a marshal, like I said we need to clean up our act for the next step....

I have no problem with your ideas, but we'd need some marshalls willing to pull their fingers out. Often a one for one is not given, for the simple reason that some hotshot player seems to have a bigger ego than the marshall, who then does not act as he should...
I too would like to see (at least some) of the penalties and cheating made public, it happens in other sports. Soccer, somebody makes a tackle, you see the slo-mo, plus the ref and the player up close when he gets the card. US football, anybody who follows that sport knows the sound of the ref going 'unnecessary roughness, defense, number 78, half the distance to the goal line' (I'm having feelings of deja vu now...:D )

It seems to work in other games, so why not in ours?

Go for it dudes!

many players can mouth off at marshals but have never actualy been in their place.

Players who play and marshal have better knowledge of both sides and have more consideration for the difficult conditions the marshals are in.

but also marshals who dont play are probably worse, as thay have little idea about the game and wont be confident about their decisions.

i mean could you implement a thing where a realy dirty team is banned unless they marshal an event........just so they can see that other side??

Thats why marshal training courses like PRO (Nppls on i think) and whatever the UKPSF are going to do - are a must. They will hopefully provide unbiased decisions on the field, compared to teams marshalling teams.
