It's worth considering something with loops like the Jacko pack or the Rase one from Smart Parts. That way, if you want to carry less paint then the pack profile is smaller. Dunno what sizes the Jacko ones come in, but the Smart Parts ones go all the way from 3+2 (3 "normal" pot holders & 2 loops) up to I think it's 6+5.

well at campaign i saw smartparts selling a 15 pot pack!! (that must weigh some wen full)
But back to the serious side of the thread.
i had a jacko, and hated it. They arent built brilliantly, and when full tend to tilt away from the body, putting alot of pressure on the bottom of the spine. and they seemed a tad too tight on the pots.
Rase, and Dye do some nice packs, they are comfy and well supported.
but ive just invested in a 3.2 redz dimension at campaign, and i am glad i did. Redz (i think) are the daddys of battle packs. they are comfy thanks to the support belts, and once on that paint aint going nowhere.
the standard pod loops are loose enough to let the pots fall out when the strap is released (so no more opened lids when needing paint) and the loops are velcro'd out of the way when not used.
only draw back is the price. i spent £60 on mine. (i think its worth every penny) but some jsut want something that holds pots. and thats a bit steep.
have a look at other peoples kit, try it on, and see what you think.

Try the new style Raven OBG pack.. they come in 4 +3 and 6+5 packs and are as comfy and secure as any other pack.

With no bias at all........(cough)

I fully recommend the Extreme Rage Bullet packs - we have just moved to them and they are the only packs I have played in that never move when you're running and diving (not that I run much - one of my front players told me that!). Good build quality and some nice features (only pack with loops that hold your pot lids shut!)

Try Andy Piper at Extreme Rage for details (+44 7876 682208)

Used 3 types lately....

Jacko (my usual) = meh, its ok, not great... does its job but is quite tight on pots unless they are WDP Fat Boys which are just the right size.

Dye = My new pack, really comfy but the belt is *ahem* a little small for my liking..... all pots fit fine.

Extreme rage = tried one this weekend and it was super comfy. Didnt use it in a game situation tho....

the jakko x-loops are lame, you can hardly fit pots in them as their too tight, and its bloody hard to get them out again on feild. Raven packs or Dy attack packs are best

jacko - Comfortable, Never moves for me, Easy to grab a pot out while playing

Dye- Comfortable (especially with the cushion at the back), Easy to grab a pot out while playing, Sometimes its moves while playing

More less the same qualities

Dye is a bit more comfortable but moves more than Jacko Pack...
