I have a 4500psi preset PMI system which screws into a bottom line for my cocker

Now sometimes its fine but other the gun un-cocks and dumps air????? It seems that the presure of the tank drops??

Any ideas????????????

Could happen a couple of different ways: 1) bottle is close to empty, if so, nothing to worry about. 2) happens regardless of amount of air in bottle then it's likely the vertical reg isn't, under certain conditions, passing suffficient volume into the cocker or your input from the vert reg is too low.

Yeah it does sound like there is not enough air (output pressure) in the bottle to recock the marker which means the backblock will go back but not far enough for the cocking rod to pull the hammer back to catch on the sear which means it goes forward and rests on the valve releasing air through the barrel.

Or it could be the cocking rod has becoming loose causing the same effect

next time it does it see if you can manually pull the cocking rod back to see if it has pushed it back enough to catch on the sear, if that doesn't help it could be a o-ring on the valve possibly?

As Sypher said - SP Europe sell both the 3k and 4.5k PMI preset regs on their own.

Has your bottom line got an inbuilt on/off? I've seen people have problems if they turn the on/off 'on' too much - the plunger that depresses the pin valve can obstruct the flow of gas.
