How good are these air systems? I need to know about consistancy, flow and reliability. I have a shocker and the system needs to keep up with it. The main question is.........will it be any good?

Also, what bottle should I get for it and how many shots can I expect out of it roughly?

I like mine...

Thus far I've had good results with my 88/4500 Pure Energy. It should fit well on a Shocker since it's a short and fat (68 length, 114 diameter). I use mine on a low pressure Cocker at about 180 psi which is the same operating pressure as the Shocker. As for the flow rate, I don't think anything is or would need to be faster at a Shocker's rate of fire. The best thing is that it's a functional, well reputed air source for not a lot of money, which is a winner in my book.

Finally, someone has replied to my topic! Thanks Killer Onion. The problem I have is that I don't know if I can get one of them cool 88 cu bottles over here, and I can't use DOT bottles in the UK. Its good to hear that the system works well, but if its a fixed output I will have to double regualte it won't I? I am new to the air thing.

No, your double regulation comes from the Shocker's Maxflow which steps it down to the acceptable pressure...no need to put another regulator on it, just screw the tank right into the manifold just like you would a co2 tank. That is precisely what I did with my 114 screw in with my Shocker, as do countless other people.

By the way, DOT bottles are also stamped with the proper UK equivalent, so they're perfectly fine. And 88cu bottles are what I think you call a 1.5 liter or similar over there, so whichever you get will work.

Screwing the reg into the back of my maxflow. Does'nt that make the whole thing a bit bulky or is the reg small? I will enquire about the US air tanks and UK regulation. I may even buy one if they are allowed to be used in the UK. Over here we have an 88cu bottle thats about an 118 length and a 68 diameter. Kinda sucks. The other version sounds much better!:D

Getting a second hand one for £100, with a 3000psi 1.9 litre bottle as well. I will probabily be selling the bottle and getting an 88cu 4500psi bottle. Why, how much can you get a 4500psi bottle and reg for and where from?

I can get a PMI Pure Energy 88 Cu In 4500 PSI bottle with a preset reg at 800psi for 275 dollars or about 180 pounds. That including shipping and handling, tank cover, nipple cover and thread cover. Without covers your talking about 255 dollars or 170 pounds. Thats from Paintballgear.com. Another thing everything I get from the states is VAT free.

Its VAT free if you get it sent over a certain way. My Shocker from Smart Parts was not VAT free. Vat inc P+P came to £160!!!! Not nice :(

Is that air system with a DOT or HSE tank?
