PM8 shooting off the bolt tip o-ring

Hi guys,

I've started having an issue with my PM8 where the bolt is partially pulling off the bolt tip o-ring every time the marker cycles - leaving a small loop stuck in the breach area.

I've cleaned all parts of the bolt and breach, re-lubed and replaced the problem o-ring with various others (all of which are definitely the right size). The front of the bolt itself seems to have some wear on it but nothing has changed since it was last used.

Does this sound like the bolt needs replacing or that there's another issue causing this?

It sounds like your eye pipes knackered mate. Do you have a spare one to swap over to see if it helps?

If there is no damage on the pipe/feedneck, have you checked your o-rings are OK? Where are they from?

Thanks for the replies, the o-rings are fresh and straight from my Proto spares kit so I can't see that they are the problem.

It sounds like your eye pipes knackered mate. Do you have a spare one to swap over to see if it helps?

Is this a symptom of the eye pipe being broken? Mine has been cracked for a little while but has worked OK, I didn't realise it could pull the o-ring off.

I sort of remember when I had one the cracked eye pipe caused the bolt tip oring to catch. Pics would help though.

Will, I broke my eye pipe within 5 minutes of getting my gun (I could lie and say it wasn't my fault, but we all know how silly that would be!) Phoned up Dye and they sent me out a new one FOC, yay for customer service!

If you don't have easy access to a spare, definitely worth a ring!

Check your eye pipes, some of them flare around the detents. If that is the case just trim a bit off it and that should stop the problem from persisting. You'll end up with what looks like a small toe nail clipping's worth of clear plastic from your eye pipe. If you have any other queries drop me an email on eurotech@dyeprecision.com
