So I'm undecided, I could spend around £100 - £110 and get myself a PMR or spend about £150 - £170 and get myself a PM7.

Is the price difference worth it? Because I still need a tank and the £60 I save could go towards the tank. How much better is the PM7?

Myself i'd buy the pm7 and see if you can use a site air bottle and save some more dosh up for a decent bottle for yourself :D

pm6 ? and then you can save some money for a air bottle aswell, the pm6 is slightly bit better than the pmr, but pm7 would be a awsome choice, some sites have a good deal like bottle and pm7 etc, my friend johs inspiron got a awsome deal pm7 and 0.8 throttle 220, but that was a one off

PM7 VS PMR (stock)

PM7 has an on/off ASA, PMR doesn't
PM7 has an aluminium back cap, PMR has a plastic one
PM7 has an aluminium trigger, PMR a plastic trigger
PM7 has a balanced spool-valve bolt design, PMR is unbalanced, and less efficient
PM7 comes with a 12" two-piece Protolite barrel, as good as an Ultralite according to Dusty, honed to 8 micron tolerance instead of 6 (a piece of paper is about 100 microns), PMR has a 12" single-piece Proto barrel, a much worse barrel.
PM7 has metal eyeplates, PMR plastic
PM7 has a knob clamping feedneck, PMR an adjustable one.
PM7 has an aluminium frame, PMR a plastic one.

By plastic I mean composite. A fully upgraded PMR would cost more than a PM7 with an Ultralite Frame, which is the only upgrade you really need.

So, for a max of 70 extra, you get a whole lot more. The cheapest of those upgrades I've mentioned are at least 20 each, some like a barrel or frame are worth about 100-200 alone.

If you really can't spend that much, get a used or new SLG. I think those are better than a PMR as they are more air-efficient and have a stronger composite frame than the PMR. upgrade the trigger and feedneck and barrel and you have a marker thats good enough to go to a tourney with :) .
