I and some freinds ahve formed a team and would like to enter one or 2 of the mileniums but have been told we ca not use our bob long guns and vangards as they do not sponsor the series . Please can somone tell me if this is true if it is its pointless us entering the series as we are not going to buy new guns just to play a couple of events.

I am pretty sure that you can enter mills with any gun, the sponsored companies just get brand exposure.
And if what you say is true then that's stupid ;)

as sad as i am i read the latest rulebook just the other day and there is nothing about using brands of guns, only that they meet certain specifications for firing modes etc. (which bob long & vanguards do). if you feel bored and want to see for yourself you can get the rules on www.millennium-series.com

how stupid is that times are hard at the moment and milenium is loosing teams and they put in a rule that no other series has we played the PSP and we just went and played looks like we will have to stick to flying out to usa and play there once a year which is all we can afford at present time , It seems they are trying to milk players as much as they can to me.

If you're just planning on playing a couple of events and not commiting to a whole season in div 1, spl or CPL then you can use what ever gun you want.

so if you're playing div 2, 3 or m5 then you'll be fine.

If you can/want to play in a locked division then you should follow its rules.
And its really not stupid, as you say. They need to have a way to support the companies that support them with financial aid, no ? i understand it perfectly.

Wow The manufactures need protecting from who ? . Do you mean people like me who skrimp and save to play and can only afford secondhand guns. So they say protecting the manufactures when in reality they are saying give us money and we will stop people playing tournies and get reduced teams each year just like this year where they have cancelled the 5 man wow thats really doing a great deed to everyone stopping people playing. all its done for us is we wont play it then the manufactures loose potential customers further down the line while milenium line thier pockets.

Marker manufacturers like Planet Eclipse and Dye pay mega bucks to the millennium series to be diamond/platinum sponsors, correct ? They do this to support the league and in turn get advertising and brand recognition, correct ? After paying such a large amount of money, it seems the MS has decided to work with its sponsors and not allow Markers from other manufacturers that do not sponsor the series.

Unfortunately you are not looking at the big picture. The higher divisions of the series see teams with contracts and sponsorship deals. Without these deals i reassure you that many teams would not be playing right now. This means that the manufacturers support is invaluable to the teams and the MS. How does this help the manufacturers that sponsor the series ? quite simply, teams winning events that are getting recognition and thus have some value to the companies that sponsor them are more likely to be one of their OWN teams if you can find a way to exclude other markers being shot at the events. Otherwise how do you justify to marker manufacturers the high price of sponsoring the MS ??

sorry if im babbling, very little sleep and im on my way to paris
