2005... It's almost half gone now and I think I should've started saving for a new marker for 2006 already.
I've currently got 4 seemingly neverending projects running (3 Spyders and 1 Timmy/Spimmy) so upping a marker isn't a problem, although I'd like a marker that I could leave alone for a while, y'know, run with it while I get the others tweaked (or up and running again. lol). I'm not worried about the money needed this time around. That being said, money is always a factor except this time it's not a case of "I can't really afford it" but more a case of "it'll just take me longer to save up enough before I can buy it". This is why the range I'm gonna choose from is so varied. I've short listed by local availability and personal preference. The plan is to buy a brand spanking new one around Christmas or New Year so that I've got it for the beginning of the year.
Here's a run down of what's causing me confusion and holding up my decision:
Tippmann A-5: I owned one but sold it to a friend so I could up my Spyder(s). I then helped him upgrade the hell out of it. Each upgrade was something that I'd planned on doing to it so it was nice to see everything work out even though it wasn't gonna be me using it. If I get another one it'll be with all the upgrades I want. It's one mean marker and could probably outlast insects and Twinkies in the event of a Nuclear War! lol
ION: "High end performance with a low end price tag" or so I've been told by many-a-soul. A few of my friends are getting them so I guess I could join them on the ION bandwagon...
EGO: Like a cocker but not. Planet Eclipse have always provided excellent service to me and I've heard lots of good things about the EGO and only a few minor bad things... and I like the look of it too.
Nexus DC2: If I'm gonna go for another cocker I might aswell go all out and get one that's maxxed out. It looks good and now comes with ramping. It'd be nice to keep up with my friend's E2'd, Evolution Spec'd Nightkast with one of these.
G7 and 05 Speed: I don't usually like the look of Angels but the new G7 and Speed look quite sleek. If I were to get an Angel it'd be direct from WDP and with their highly recommended customer service... And it'd be one of these two. A few guys I play against use Angels and they rock right out of the box.
Primal: I've said it many times, I like Spyders. While this is technically a Raven I think it still counts as a Spyder. As most of my kit is made up of Spyder markers the Primal is one that won't have a compatability clash if I add it to my kit... and I like Spyders.
Help me out! Post a what you think of the choices. I gotta start saving!
