hi all, ive not been around for a while but thought id login and let you know that i did the E2 and Ego level one tech courses today......very enjoyable day out....
both courses show you exactly how they e2 frame/ego go together and how the electonics are set etc and simplify it all to a level that would make it easy for anyone to understand.
the E2 course presents you with an e2 frame kit stripped down to the screws and you are shown how to build the whole lot up to a working frame and a good explanation of how the trigger filters work to stop bounce. the test at the end is to be given a marker that has been 'f**ked about with' by some of the planet staff and to find and fix the problem.
the Ego course is litterally a box of bits to start with, the whole marker down to the orings removed. the only parts that were preassambled were the board already mounted in the frame and the trigger installed (but that was very similar to the e2 we had done in the morning). The qev's and barbs had also been loctited in already so we didnt have to wait for anything to set.
starting with attaching the minifold to the 'noid and then the low pressure hoses, building up the rammer and valve before installing it......installing the eyes/detents/covers......stopping along the way to take the lpr appart and how that works...ditto the inline reg....build the ups up from parts...then fiddle with the software.
a very good way to learn how to build the marker and a very good way to learn how to fault find it too. the final test at the end....'pass round this air system and let see if they work shall we!'
all in all both courses very well presented by Nicky T. Id definatly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn more about their own marker.......and invaluable to the teams 'tinkerer'. well worth both the time and money.
if you do go ask ledz if you can try some of his chilli sauce, damn that stuff is nice!!!!
and watch out for idiot women drivers who drive to fast in the pouring down rain and cant see brake lights....nuff said
