Places to Play !! Chester, north Wales, Stoke way

So CPPS is obvs the place to be in the UK, but having a partner who has played there... well... probably since it began and reffin a lot of the games hes not playing... then would like to play my first few shameful games elsewhere, at least until i have run out a few times.... any recommendations for the place to be?
