A common problem in spyder-like guns is the striker spring becoming worn. Get a spyder spring kit from your paintball store. A really good kit is a 32 Degree's set, but a normal kit will do.

They usually come in low - medium - medhigh, and high tension.

Try putting a med or med-high spring and that should solve the problem.

Not enough wack on the shooting stroke causes velocity drop off!

Also, clean and check your valve.

i forgot

look at the pic in my sig, you see the little blue piece sticking out right in front of the expansion chamber and right below the barrel? it was solid when i bought the gun but i had my dad drill it out to act as a lpc. would that have caused ill effects?

Shouldn't do, Spyders and the like i.e. Piranha's are very adaptable to drillied on mods. It wouln't cause any problem if it was sealed and no leaks.

Its gonna be your striker spring dude, get a cheap spyder spring kit.

Check your hammer o-ring. The slightest nick or break in the o-ring can ruin velocity or prevent recocking. Make sure it's undamaged and well oiled.

Check the filters in the ASA (either two little brass inserts in the block above the front grip/reg or a little wire screen between that and the valve spring. Check they are not blocked or damaged.

And if that doesn't fix it, use a stiffer main spring.

well oiled
Beware... over oiling the o-rings in markers like piranha's can cause them to swell and actually come off the striker (hammer is not a common word for markers like spyders as it isn't really hammer shaped. But ones like the Impulse and LCD are shaped like a hammer, hence the name).

Put a drop of oil on your finger and rub it around the o-ring, this should make it moist and lubed, but not over the top.

Give it a try. As a spyder owner, I have looked after mine the same for a few years now and it has always worked and never had a problem.
