Pipe barrels...

...do everything they say on the tin. Holy crap, I like them muchly.
No, I'm not sponsored by them, but I finally got to shoot mine for the first time yesterday, and it held up as good as anticipated and better. Really, really good barrel for shooting through breaks, great accuracy (even when your feed neck looks like an ice cream factory) and awesomely light weight. My boomstick was nice, but I think it was made out of depleted uranium; this thing feels like I don't have a barrel in there. So big thanks to Piper for the barrel.

And so this post isn't all about me loving my barrel, a query: how should I be testing for what bore size to use? I did the usual blow-a-couple-paintballs-through-the-barrel trick, but my first guess was wrong (I went 683, too tight and chopped a lot of paint). How tight should the paint fit? I'm looking for specifics here. Any help's appreciated.

P.S. To campaigny people- PM me with your accounts of the Cup, and I'll tell you about my huntings for a team in the US. It's going well...

I've got a Pipe too, one fine piece of kit. I do the blow through test, and usually get my bore size right about perfect. Put a paintball in the end of the barrel, and try to blow it through. It should go through with relative ease. If you turn blue trying to get it through the barrel, it's too tight. If it rolls down the barrel, partially or completely, it's too loose. You could also buy yourself a bore sizer, like the WDP paint mate. Never used one, but I understand they work quite well.
