What are you trying to do with photoshop?
Also what version are you using? (If you are using it)

Ive got a banner and im trying to put a small sentence on it probably quite simple to most but im struggling, And im usuing Photoshop CS5

load up the banner in photoshop.
Click new layer.
with that layer selected on the right 'layer window' go click the 'T' for Text.
Click anywhere on the layer once, Enter what you want and then click the black arrow icon to finish the works.

Resize and change font type as you want, colour etc and job done.
