PGI's Tournament Coverage

Hi,

I was wondering what everybody thought of the changes that PGI have made to the style of tournament coverage over that last couple of issues.

For me, I think that the "Move of the tournament" feature is an excellent thing, and the individual game reviews are cool too. One thing I woudl really like to see thought would be plans of all the fields, so that the accounts could then talk about a game on "Field 2" or whatever and then we could all know what was going on.

What does anyone else think?

But IMHO big up PGI for the changes they have made, the reports are much better now :D

thanks!

Glad someone actually reads the mag and pays attention! Will definitely consider doing the field designs for the bigger events. Never know, could be a new thing for next year

Hey Ant, I told ya I really liked the way the mag was going... but it may have been the drink talking... hang on I was sober and you were drunk... :D

Field layouts are great. It's nice to look at the field plan and see how teams play it. You can also use em for training and team discussions etc... if you are that sad, that is...

I think you should do a pull out edition with field pieces you can cut out and arrange on a field to help with field walking and stuff :D

You could even have mini players... a la Rocky in full size... and mini refs to come in and wipe down players at the front and on certain teams....

And just for Robbo, you could include no toilets what so ever in the cut out packs :D

Oh and the new style and some of the photography is just awesome. :D :D :D

Move of the day

I agree its great to get more detail about some of the killa moves the big guys are pullin out there.

My only criticism would be the lack of coverage about the UK tourneys, I appreciate more yanks read this mag than UK dudes but for us it would be nice to get some more detail and photos of what goes on in the UK scene.

Oli Bell's coverage of the S2002 was great (painting pictures with words) but what about some of the other tourneys down south etc

I know the response will be that the masses obviously dictate the content and not many US baller would be that interested in the smaller UK events but hey! shy bairns get nowt!

Also it would be nice to see some team profiles from UK teams about how they train etc

Oh and that another thing, rather than read more about tourney stuff that has happened could you please write an article on training for tourneys, what drills will best hone our skills, I know that you always bang on about snapshooting etc but what do the pro's do during a normal training day? Perhaps a comparison of a top pro US team and what the Legion do might be interesting as many comparisons are made between their differing techniques and philosophies.

Thanks

A lot of the stuff you mentioned is already planned and in production...and yes, with some UK Ballers.

Request for more UK coverage has been made. Prepare for new round of griping, cajoling and pleading. ;)
Please search for great drawn out previous threads on same subject.

This has been a response from the Moder8or's Early Warning System. We now return you to the thread. Thank You.
