In that song he criticizes Ed Reiker, the owner of PBNation for talking his money.
It's not Ed's fault at all, Ed's an astute business guy who merely provided a platform for us ballers to utilize as we see fit.
The intellectual and behavioral cesspit PBNation finds itself in has nothing to do with Ed and everything to do with the type of individual who frequents that site.
PBNation's problems are a truly sad indictment of the youth of America I'm afraid and I'm not so sure any of us over here in Europe wouldn't have gone in the same direction in similar circumstances.
I do think however, there is a most definite cultural distinction to be made in terms of attitude and behavior between the Euro teen and the Yank teen with the latter, seemingly indulging themselves a lot more in so-called 'smack-talk' BS and all the other
cr@p that seems to emanate from their mouths.
Mind you, in drawing that distinction, I am not so far we ain't too far behind when I see some of the stuff posted here but thankfully, I have a great mod team who filter the sh!t out and save us from having to read a lot of the dross posts anyway.
I would love to invent a piece of software that could transport these loudmouths from the comfort of their homes into a boxing ring and the ensuing event filmed for everyone to see .... the real world has a nasty habit of punishing such bad manners with a few facial injuries and I'd make a fortune in the subsequent viewing rights, an absolute fortune.
I think I'd call it something like,
'Come get yer face filled in ya yank ass punk bitch', ya know, something with a subtle ring to it like that ...
It's genuinely worrying that when we provide a voice for paintball's younger demographic, it reveals a whole host of individuals whose intellectual capacities rival that of a nematode and act as though they are some sort of tough guy whose left his manners and respect at home.
And these guys are the future of our sport????
I know I don't make anywhere near the money off of this site Ed makes with his but I kinda take pride in the fact we are one of the most respected sites out there in terms of content.
I do think though, the average age of our member is something like 10 years older than PBNation's.
That is the reason I think we see this difference between our sites.
I have met Ed Reiker and had a long conversation with him when I was at world cup a few years back and a nicer guy you couldn't meet; very unassuming and very gracious.
An extremely bright and extremely sharp man ...... anyway, enough about me, he was a pretty cool guy also.
Actually, he's the guy who's extremely bright and smart, he's also is a millionaire, not that that's particularly special in the US, there are literally millions of those but he makes sooooooo much money out of that site, and I mean sooooooo much money.
I just wonder how many of us wouldn't go down the same road as he knowing how it all turned out, I'd like to think I wouldn't but I gotta say, I probably would, in fact, yes I would have.
