hi, being a newbie im unsure how long paintballs last. - if that makes sense.

obviously i want to practice in my garden etc (as it just goes into woods). but i get better economies of scale in buying 2000 balls. (normally they are around the £28 mark)

but i wont get through them that fast, so how long do they keep for? is there a good way of keeping them?

Yes, correctly stored they will last longer.

Store them in a warm place, like inside your house. I dont mean warm as in, put them in the oven :D

If you are playing, and its cold out, its best to store them in your car, and just get what you need each time you go play a game.

They will also need to be sealed, like in a pod or sealable freezer bag. if they're out in open air they'll quickly warp and lose their shape.
And they may need a shake or flip them over every now and then (every other week), just so the paint doesn't sit at the bottom of a ball for too long

Great advice although I wouldnt keep them in a pod.

Plastic bags like a freezer bag with a little twist tie is perfect. As to how long they last, not sure, maybe a few months? 6 months unopened?

Someone else will be able to answer that part for you Im sure.

All depends on if you're planning on shooting them at someone or not! If you're just using them to muck around at your house then i've used year old paintballs before now :D But if you're gunna be shooting someone with them i'd use some slightly newer ones :D

it will depend on the quality of the ball how long they'll keep, but if stored properly they should keep for a couple of months. But they will slowly degrade no matter how well looked after they are, so you'll want to check them before using them in a game because they won't be perfect.
