Hey all,

I'm new here, so first of all, hello, hope you're all doing alright...

I've been doing a bit of paintballing recently, and loving it, I'd like to get into it. I've been doing a bit of Googling, but could use some advice:

First off - Where do I go to play?! I'm near Edinburgh, there are LOADS of places round here, but most of the market seems to be aimed at Stag Do's, Parties, etc, and not recreational play. What do you guys do? Do you hook up and go to these sites? What do you do about paintballs, air, etc? These sites are expensive (£10 per 100!) if you buy their paintballs. Can you use your own kit at these sites? The last one I was at had loads of BB's lying about, so I assume they use these sites for other things during the week/evenings.

Secondly - I need some kit! :) Looks like the Tippman 98c is a great choice for beginners, especially since my budget is pretty tight right now. Any thoughts? Anyone got a second-hand one they want to sell me? ;)

Any help appreciated, hope I can see some of you on the field. ;)

Urban Jungle paintball in Clarkston, Glasgow. Home site of teh Scottish Warriors.
If your looking for rec ball rather than sup'air then it's a great value site.

Walk on rate if you ahve your own kit is £20 with your own kit, £35/£40 with a box of paint.

Even if you come on a "normal" day the rates are pretty good. £30 inc 400 balls // £40 inc 500 balls // £60 inc 1000 balls // £7 per 100 thereafter.

We've a few come over from the Edinburgh area quite regularly. It's an easy hop down the M8/A8/A725/A726

Rider,

I had a look at the site - it looks pretty good, but seems to me you might be a bit biased. ;)

The prices are pretty good though, admittedly - I'm trying to find a group of folks to play with, and have a little "organisation" in games, rather than the usual cluster-f*** which the days I've been to tend to be - do you hold other events other than the usual?

Cheers,

Ive never been but there is always A1 paintball which i hear is good, also there is a new indoor paintball place opening up in the middle of burgh called urban paintball, think it might be a bit pricey though.
You could always go to some prozone events like the wedding day massacre next month in Amman near Dumfries, its only just under 2 hours from burgh?

I got myself a Proto SLG... ;)

A1 have emailed me back to say they're looking at doing walk-ons, so anyone that's interested should show their support, and help get it up and running!

I'll hopefully be at Urban Jungle in Glasgow this Sunday if I can make it, otherwise.

Cheers,
