was down at the local site today with a friend using up a leftover case of paint. My impulse was playing up and not firing a "string" merely single shots then nothing for a minute or so. The site owner and a friend also turned up and we were set for a game except for my bloody marker!!!
Dave ( site owner ) said no worries, calmly handed me his angel and said hae fun !!

Just goes to show that there are nice people about :) :) :)
Can't think of anywhere else where someone would hand over £1500 of kit and let u charge about the woods with it.

So a BIG thanks to Dave @skirmish

Well how about 6th Element, my team's sponsors. Anyone wants to try their hand at tournaments gets to borrow site kit whenever they play. Gives people a chance to have a go at tourney ball without splashing out on full kit, & to keep playing while they save up for their ultimate marker.
Does look a bit strange sometimes with a team going out with 2 Angels, a custom Cocker & a couple of Pyranhas:D

6th Element rule:) :) :)

I've had the same experience as you smartecosse, when I first started paintball and I met my first team at my local site. They were so helpful in aswering any questions I had and didn't make me feel stupid for asking about stuff that may have seen obvious to them. Then when I found out that most of them played with Dark Angels I was awestruck with the capability of them and they just let me have a go straight away! I practice with that same team now and I'm saving up to get an Angel similar to theirs and I'm able to borrow theirs all the time! Thanks Gav, Gordon and the lads!!! :D :D :D

Ya dude, know what you mean. The field manager at the field I play at saw me firing my gun in the shooting range and just out of the blue asked if I wanted a trigger job for free (my old piranha had a massive trigger pull). I was like, helllll yeah! I expected to have to sit out the next couple games but he just handed me his dark angel and says "have fun". Now ain't that nice? :D

Very similar has been my experience. When I was a few months into the game, a friend loaned me his Shocker to learn how to play with a high level gun and how to tailor my game to the needs of the other players. He kept filling the air at his cost, reffed the games so he could see what I was doing with it, gave me tips, and when I got my own Shocker he taught me how to clean it well and spot problems with it. From that point on it's been all about building my game and asking the questions that I needed to ask and helping other people with whatever problems they have. It really is the gift that keeps on giving. Encourage everyone below you to make the right decisions and go in a direction that's going to get them farther in the game. It's what keeps high level players popping up over here in the US to have tournaments and produce today's and tomorrow's star players.

Loan of kit/Nice people

Yeah,

I have had nothing but good experiences with people lending us (the DUPS) kit. Apart from 6E who also lend us kit, which is the only reason I ever got into this sport and therefore the cause of many a bruise (some of them even on other people :D), people at tourneys will also generally just lend kit around (big hello to the phsyco pimps, and Alien in particular).

We are great aren't we!

Peace

Richard
