Hey guys, a few years back for my interview for uni (Graphic Design BA) I had to do a project on my 3 biggest influences and paintball was one of them. And now with the new facebook time line I thought I'd try and re-jigg it to be a timeline cover image.

So here it is, anyone who feels so inclined is welcome to use it.

For those curious the original can been seen at my website here:

The player is based on a pic of me taken by Peter Bourne (onasilverbike) at Germany Millennium 2k8

not sure what you are trying to say Pete? Plagiarism is something I take pretty seriously so if that is what you are trying to imply, then that does pain me.

I feel I should mention for other forum viewers that I paid for the photo of me that the digital painting is based upon and that I am a long running supporter of paintball photographers. Buying images from almost every tournament I play.

The image in question from Germany 2008 I paid for and was supplied to me with no stipulated restrictions or licence agreement. If Pete, you have issue with people creating non-commercial derivative works then perhaps you should consult Creative Commons and distribute your images under the relevant licence. Or if none of the supplied licences on there suit your needs, consider hiring a solicitor to draft one up that does.

However having paid money for the image and having no restrictions stated, I assumed I was safe to create the image above based upon it, especially as it was for a non-commercial purpose.

I'd like to think you know me well enough to know there was no malicious intention in creating the image, or in it's distribution.

Jack, I'm not having a go, or disputing that you legitimately bought said image, I'm glad that you have put it to good use. Usually, I include a disclaimer with my images that they are should remain intact, and are for personal non-commercial use, however, I do remember discussing the use of this image, and the image the background was based upon with you for the said. I'm not about to accuse you of plagiarism, I find your work refreshingly original in an all to often 'me too' digital design environment. That said, recognition is always welcome, I also think you have missed a trick by not including your own Insidious tag in the image before offering it for wider distribution. You never know what that might bring you.

Ok well sorry about that haha. Guess I just took it differently to how it was intended, It did seem some what out of character.

And if I recall the background used several images for reference of different components of the image.
