sounds like someone lost a Co2 cartridge from a quick release...... It's happened to me at a scenario game........ bloke it hit was wearing a Kevlar helmet so he was just shaken up. Is there any more info? one of those little cartridges is good to fire 25 paintballs....... imagine how fast it can go if it vents it all at once?

You screw the cartridge in to pierce the seal.......... if it's not seated right it can go shooting off as it vents it's gas all at once. Pretty scary, I never used them again.
Still can't find any more info about this incident.

In a similar way i had a 7oz cylinder blow- i was unscrewing it and the pin valve jammed somehow, shot the gas out while unscrewing to release gas already in gun and donkey, as i finished unscrewing it the valve jammed fully open and the remaining co2 propelled the cylinder out of my hand and shot it about 10 feet away, luckily our safe zone has netting all around and no customers are allowed in the gun area while servicing is bein carried out, so no-one was hurt. this incident led to all the cylinders being replaced with new on/off valves. This could quite easily happen, espesh with presets etc- guess we just gotta be carefull.

I've seen this happen a few too many times, The problem with Co2 is that it expands so just keeps going until it's empty where if the same happened with Air it would go like a rockets but only for a very short time. These Co2 valves are brass and brass isn't the strongest but people seem to be a lot more careful these days and rental are never that careful when it comes to rental gear. It sounds like one of those unfortunate accidents.
