Has anyone in the UK actually lost sight due to a paintball accident?

Don't worry guys I’m not some Joe Public asking if paintball is safe or not - I play myself. You don't have to tell me about the golf stats. It's just that I get the impression in past years, (correct me if I’m wrong), that safety wasn't so strongly enforced. I've seen quiet a few old pictures of people with missing teeth from the days before faceplates.

This is not an attempt to spread bad publicity about paintball, the better informed we are the better we can counter criticism and prevent further accidents.

I've got the flexy face plate and have been shot in the face loads of times and have never had any problems. JT kit and stuff from any reputable manufacturer, these days aren't a problem they comply with saftey standards and if used correctly they are safe, (although when people have their faceplate folded up i recogn they may be running a slight risk).

I was talking about in the old days when they had no face plates at all.
