Doing a bit of investigation for some Product Design work and need to find out what material pods are made from. But cant seem to find any info on what plastic is used.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what plastic is used to make paintball pods?

Cheers

material

one of the 2 probably,,, polyester or polycarbinate

But to keep them cheap id hazard a guess @ polyester ,,

i work with the injection moulding industry and this would be one of the materials id probs go for...

Have now looked into this further and yes ABS OR POLYPROP,
ABS Is an impact modified material making it strong but prone to cracking etc , polyprop is a very durrable material and will give more than ABS .

Cheap pots are made out of ABS, as it is less flexible compared to Polypropylene, but cheaper to manufacture,
(Just finished this part of my sylabus @ uni)
Locklids and such will be made out of High Density Polypropylene as it is more flexible, and is more resiliant to cracking and splitting, as well as being more resistant to corrosion from all the gunk which you will pick up through out the day

or similar

That was a really helpfull bit of info. Cheers for that!

@Sean: Our introductory project to the course is to investigate and choose a product and improve/add to that product. So instead of the usual boring can opener, craft knife etc... I thought I'd go for something a little more interesting.
