here is my delema.
i work at a used car dealership. we have a cable access comercial that is a big local thing. we just got a hummer H1 and my co-workers want to have me drive up in the hummer and spray my co-worker with my paintball gun because he is dressed up as "high prices".
my worry is that it doesn't show a responsable side to the sport. i'm afraid it will add the idea of drive by shooting to people with lower moral standards. i know it is all in good fun, but what do you think?
i really do want to know your opinion.

well...maybe do it like this: you drive up to a local field with that hummer and play a team of "high prices". you shoot one of the break(thumb up in direction of the cam), then snapshoot another(whooohooooo), then go for a runthrough and shoot the other three, come of the field, lift mask and say into the cam:"thats how we deal with high prices!"
it shows paintball action, but its on a sup-air field, so no illegal action involved.

maybe you could combine the making of the spot with a day of fun for you and all you co-workers? tell your boss that a lot of companies send their people to paintball cause it brings them together as a team in a great way.

i wish there was a field within 90 miles
What about a local rec ball field with a hyperball arena?
Personally I agree with you views about it not promoting the sport in a good light.
If you have concerns about it then you should really talk it over with your boss. Prehaps you could set up targets with 'high prices' rather than shooting a person?

Like you say, its showing paintball in a bad light. It'll probably end up doing your employer more harm than good if a series of local paintball related drive-bys are found to be triggered by the advert.

Can't you just run-over the high prices in the hummer?

My 2c;)

perhaps, off the break, one team could be carrying signs that say high prices and the other team just play a real quick game, with bunkerings, shootin off the breaks and run thrus etc, showing different parts of teh sport, with refs callin eliminated etc

What the hell does paintball have to do with selling Hummers? Sounds to me like you'll spend money on an advert that will get lots of people wanting a game of paintball and no interest in buying a used car.
Definately go for driving over high prices. That way you just promote vehicular manslaughter and not drive-by shootings.

Yeah- admittedly one's as bad as the other.

But isn't it potentially easier to shoot at someone from a moving vehicle (whether you hit them or not is a different matter) than to run them over, as far as believing you'll get away with it is concerned?

Er, no.
One can be an accident, the other kind of requires deliberate intent.
Anyway, neither of them will sell any cars.

Stick to the formula that's worked for decades.

Loud mouthed salesman with bad wig and horrible sports jacket, yells crap about how crazy he is, while two dodgy "models" drape themselves over the hood. There ya go, sale made.
